Angron (II)

It has been roughly five years since I painted Angron for the first time. In fact, it was the very first primarch I bought and one of the reasons I opened the blog.

Today, I am sharing here another Angron that I have just painted. This one is not for my personal collection but rather for a friend that asked me to paint it for him.

I have decided to use metallic colours this time to match the original Forge World scheme.

Also the marines that are being killed are from the Sons of Horus and from Emperor's Children because those are the Legions that we have in the little gaming group we have for Horus Heresy.

It was real fun painting another primarch after so long and I am looking forwars to paint Perturabo in 2021.

Somehow the photos are really blurry and one cannot appreciate any detail, but I can assure you it is not as bad painted as it looks like. I am particularly happy with how the dead marines turned out as well as the skulls, fur and skin. I am not so happy with Angron's face, something around the eyes did not turn out nicely. In the pictures it looks like the eyes are simple splotches of black paint...

I can clearly see now that the Angron I originally painted was not positioned correctly, neither the hands nor the marines. Same thing for the sword that I never attached.

The Walking Dead: Survivors (III)

This is the last post (for now) for painted miniatures of The Walking Dead.

Here are the last survivors of the gang, with Mr. Grimes and son!

It has been a blast painting them! I had lots of fun, it was fast, easy and they turned out great! So in 2021 I hope to get more.

I will try to post a few gaming pics soon.

I took special care in painting the face of Rick. Grim determination I would call that expression.

The other two are quite tiny figures, as they are kids.

The Walking Dead: Survivors (II)

Second batch of Survivors, including the Governor! I really want to get another version of him. I gave him camo pants, I believe it just fits the miniature so well.

I made an effort to create some woodgrain in the bat of the guy with the blue hoodie. Not bad for a first attempt, but I need to improve.

As a sneak peek of the missing survivors for next post, here is zombie Rick Grimes, I think it was some kind of exclusive version.

The Walking Dead: Survivors (I)

 Here are the first survivors painted.

I have used the same base technique as with the zombies, and same colours, but once the Agrax was dry, I gave them a highlight on all areas to make them stand apart from the zombies. When you put them together, you can see the zombies are much darker and not so clean, as the wash gives them this old and dirty look, the survivors, while they might have some streaks of grime or dirt, they are overall much more clean, as they should be!

I also painted the faces, eyes and other details that I did not do with the zombies. Overall I am quite happy as to how did they turn out. And I am looking forward to paint more!
