Clanrats (II)

After my post from last week I noticed I just need 8 more clanrats to be able to field a legal Skaven army in 3rd ed. so I decided to go for it.

I painted another 12 clanrats to have a grand total of 24.
My goal is to have two units of 20 clanrats, both with a full command group. One of the units will be made up of the plastic rats, which I call "the rookies" and the other will be the lead ones, "the veterans". I have chosen more vivid colours for the veterans, also adding a bit more of details to the shields.

At the moment if I mix this rats with the other ones, it would be a weird combination as I will have two drummers for example, but this is just temporary...

The next step is to paint the remainder of the clanrats to be able to field my units. That will mean another standard bearer at least, I love painting them as I am really happy with the end result!

Total cost of these rats is:
  • for 3rd edition: 72 points
  • for 4th edition: 72 points

Clanrats (I)

After working a bit on the Sons of Horus I have managed to paint a some rats for my ever growing army.

I have painted 12 plastic clan rats using the usual techniques. Main colors are brown and green with a bit of red on some shields.
The shields used are the original ones, that show a mix of different icons.

I wanted to know how many points I have painted so far so here is a small recap.
Note that I have used italics for 4th edition.

Total for 3rd edition excluding magical objects: 1308
Total for 4th edition excluding magical objects: 1128,5

Which means I am getting closer to the 1500 barrier but I am still not able to fill up the minimum amount of rats needed for a basic clanrat unit. So that will be my next target, painting another 10 or 20 of those.
